NHV’s Mechanic Apprenticeships offer candidates a structured training pathway which will enable them to develop a career in rotary aircraft maintenance engineering. Apprentices will be given the opportunity to gain valuable experience on various aircraft types and learn from experienced professionals.
The Apprentice Mechanic will work in a team of mechanics and licensed engineers and is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the aircraft. They report to the Chief Engineer, and to their assigned mentor.

Follow the instructions given to you by your supervisor and the licensed engineers and mechanics on site.
Carry out aircraft maintenance tasks under supervision.
Work collaboratively within the maintenance department, and with other departments when required.
Prepare for aircraft maintenance activity.
Reinstate the work area on completion of maintenance activity.
Basic tasks in Line Maintenance, in compliance with the requirements as described in the regulations: refueling, towing, baggage loading and other line activities.
Ensure that all maintenance is completed within the appropriate time scales to ensure provision of a serviceable aircraft to meet the operational need.
Complete aircraft documentation required for aircraft or component maintenance work.
Assist the licensed engineers in trouble shooting.
Assist the licensed engineers in correct handling of maintenance tasks.
Inform stakeholders of aircraft maintenance work status. For example, engineers, supervisors, colleagues, contractors, and customers.
Comply with the requirements as described in the regulations.
Ensure that all maintenance tasks carried out on helicopters meet the standard of the UK CAA and M.O.E. instructions.
Ensure, in cooperation with NHV Supply Chain, that the necessary maintenance material and spare parts are present on site at the planned moment.
Responsible for complying with Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies, procedures, and controls and supporting information security objectives
IT literate (i.e. Microsoft, general software…)
Languages: English (professional level)
Ability to follow company procedures and processes (operational, quality, safety …)
Motivated to study to obtain experience and knowledge
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Must have the unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
Must have 4 GSCE’s/National 5’s, or equivalent including English and Mathematics at grade C or above.
Must be able to obtain a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland or DBS certificate.
